Entró en servicio con la USAF en 1965. Modificado al programa luego cancelado "Big Tail" (denominación no oficial) en 1975 y almacenado en 1976.
En 1989 se donó al Museo donde sigue mostrando la cola alargada de aquel extinto programa.
