Este avión lo adquiere Aviaco a Mac Donnell Douglas y es matriculado en España el 14 de Enero de 1992, siendo bautizado "Gibralfaro", mas tarde Aviaco es integrado en Iberia siendo la flota de MD-88 integrada en la misma, por tanto luciendo la librea de esta última. Aquí lo podemos ver en Los Rodeos junto con aviones de Binter, Air Europa e Islas Airways.
