Por entonces United estaba retirando su flota de DC-10, de los que unos cuantos se aparcaron en LAS. Este tras algunos meses de storage fue convertido en carguero además de recibir modificaciones en su cabina de pilotaje que la hacen idéntica a la del MD-11, de ahí en ser renombrado MD-10. Adquirido por Fedex
