Ahora expuesto en el museo alemán de Oberschleissheim por aquel entonces en un hangar de la NASA Dryden en Edwards. Recordemos que el Rockwell-Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm X-31 Enhanced Fighter Maneuverability fue un avión experimental creado como un programa de colaboración germano-estadounidense para probar la tecnología de empuje vectorial en los aviones de caza. Fueron fabricadas dos unidades y una de ellas se estrelló, quedando sólo este ejemplar
