Este avión lo adquiere directamente Iberia del fabricante americano, es dado de alta en el Registro español el 11 de Febrero de 1975, siendo bautizado "Costa Blanca". Al ser dado de baja en la Flota de DC.10, es vendido a USA, allí es matriculado N12080. A la derecha de la foto podemos ver en Barajas a dos 747, uno de TWA y otro de IB así como un DC.10 de Aeroméxico.
