Este fue el primer DC-9 de Iberia: llegó a Barajas el 1 de julio de 1967 siendo bautizado "Villa de Madrid" y, tras realizar 50794 ciclos y algo más de 54454 horas, fue retirado por la compañía de bandera el 21 de noviembre de 1993. El resto de su vida operativa fue con compañías africanas (Sun Air y Zimbabwe Express).
